Artistic director Daniel Winder directs Shakespeare’s explosive psychological horror story Macbeth, and we’re pleased to announce that David Hywel Baynes – best remembered for his Richard in Richard III (2014) – returns after three years away to take on the title role.
Inspired by the psychosexual imagery of Hieronymus Bosch, this production of Macbeth weaves its way around the grounds of St Paul’s Church; reflecting the play’s journey into the twisted mental landscape of Macbeth as he rises to be king.
Amy Draper returns to direct Winder’s new adaptation of Hansel & Gretel. Offie-nominated for last year’s Much Ado About Nothing, Draper’s production features a life-sized, edible gingerbread house and is guaranteed to fright and delight curious children and adventurous adults alike.
Macbeth will run 21st June – 29th July and Hansel & Gretel and the Witch Baba Yaga will run 3rd August – 3rd September, all in the grounds of St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden.
