Welcome to Iris Theatre
Please note that due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we have temporarily suspended most of our performances. Iris now faces unprecedented difficulty, and urgently needs significant financial help. Please consider supporting us: for more information on how and why, do visit our blog.
Iris Theatre is an award-winning theatre company and charity based in the heart of London’s Theatreland. Created in 2007, we provide transformational opportunities for young and emerging artists and audiences alike in a creative environment welcome to everyone.
Over the past decade Iris has built a reputation for innovative site-specific theatre with mass appeal. The cornerstone of our year is our summer promenade performances in the grounds and buildings of the Actors’ Church in Covent Garden. Our ten week summer season generally consists of a Shakespeare play followed by a classic family story, where we produce a fresh and vibrant repertoire of varied work, providing audiences with affordable and accessible theatre.
Throughout the year, Iris supports young artists through a variety of development schemes. In 2019, Paul-Ryan Carberry took over as artistic director of the company alongside executive director Paul Virides, and the team is hard at work planning for 2020’s slate of opportunities and performances.
