  • Hannah Barton

    Associate Artist: Photography & Film-maker

    Hannah is a freelance photographer, film maker and graphic designer with a background in circus arts. Hannah has worked for Iris theatre as official photographer and film maker for 5 years (Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Richard III, Julius Caesar, As You Like It, A Midsummer Night's Dream; Circuit; Xmas Factor) producing trailers, production photos, press & promotional images, rehearsal shots, head shots and event photography. She lives in South East London. /

  • Candida Caldicot


    Candida is a composer and musical director who has worked across a range of theatre project from West End musicals to straight plays. She has been musical director and composer on eight of Iris Theatre's productions, Alcestis, The Mysteries, The Wind in the Willows, Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Nights Dream, As You Like It, Julius Caesar and Alice in Wonderland; and also acts as musical consultant on an ongoing basis to the Artistic Director.

  • Simon Kent


    Simon trained at ALRA graduating from the 3 year BA ( Hons) Acting Course in 2010. Simon has performed with Iris Theatre in a number of projects including Romeo and Juliet, Wind in the Willows,Workin Process 1, Julius Caesar & Alice in Wonderland. As a Producer Simon is delighted to be continuing the implementation of our Fundraising and Development plan. Simon joined the company at the beginning of 2012 as part of our Young Producer's Programme and has continued to work for the company beyond his placement.

  • Nick J Field

    Associate Producer

    Nick had a successful career in business and management prior to training at East 15 Acting School. As an actor he has toured theatres in Scotland and England, as well as appearing on BBC Television. Nick joined Iris Theatre at the beginning of 2012 as part of our Young Producer's Programme and by the end of his two years with us was Executive Producer. In 2014 he took up a new role with the National Theatre of Scotland as a Senior Production Co-ordinator.

  • Tara Finney

    Associate Producer

    Tara worked as a corporate solicitor at a US law firm before leaving to pursue a career in theatre and event producing last year. During 2012, she worked for nine months as Resident Assistant Producer at Theatre503, one of London's foremost new writing venues. In spring 2013, she project managed World Factory at the National Theatre Studio for Metis Arts before joining Iris Theatre in May as one of the producers of our summer season of Julius Caesar and Alice in Wonderland. in 2014 she produced the Cockpit transfer of Alice in Wonderland as well as our summer season of Richard III and Alice Through the Looking Glass. With her own company, Tara recently produced Land of Our Fathers at Trafalgar Studios. Tara also regularly works with the Company of Angels.


  • Ben Crystal

    Actor & Shakespeare Populist

    Ben Crystal - Actor Has performed in three Iris Theatre or Daniel Winder-directed productions to date. As Edgar in King Lear (2010) with the Shakespeare in Styria Festival, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream (2011), and the Narrator in Workin Process 2 - Modern Dramatic Verse (2011). He also runs the Shakespeare workshop programme with Iris Theatre's Artistic Director Daniel Winder. He has played Hamlet in the contemporary world premiere of the play in Original Pronunciation in November 2011 with the Nevada Repertory Company, and has curated a CD of Shakespeare in OP for the British Library (available March 2012).

  • Roger Bartlett

    Fight Director

    Roger is an Equity Registered Fight Director and his recent credits include: “Hopelessly Devoted” by Kate Tempest (Paines Plough), “Kidnapped” (Sell-A-Door UK Tour”, “Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood” (Gala Theatre, Durham), “Julius Caesar” (Iris Theatre), “Wind in the Willows” (West Yorkshire Playhouse), “Fear” (Bush Theatre) written and directed by Dominic Savage, “As You Like It” (Iris Theatre), “Blue Heart Afternoon” (Hampsted Theatre Downstairs), “Wife to James Whelan” (New Diorama Theatre), “The Cherry Orchard” (Birmingham Rep) and “In Praise of Love” (Royal and Derngate Theatre, Northampton). He has also worked at venues including Southwark Playhouse, Theatre Royal Bath (Ustinov Studio), Finborough Theatre and Warwick Castle. For film, Roger has worked as part of the stunt team for the Vertigo Films production “Hammer of the Gods” and season two of the popular TV show “Vikings”.

  • Elissavet Aravidou

    Movement Director

    Elissa trained in Greece in Apparatus Gymnastics before coming to London for a year in 2006 to train at Circus Space. She has acted and directed in several professional shows in Greece and twice been the movement director in Austria for the Shakespeare in Styria project. Elissa moved to London to further her career in physical theatre. She is one of Iris Theatre resident movement expert and an important part of the Circuit creative team.

  • Matthew Mellalieu


    Matthew trained at Drama Centre London. Credits at Drama Centre include Polixenes in ‘A Winter’s Tale’, Le Grange in ‘Moliere’, Derby in ‘Richard III’, and Gaston in ‘A Solemn Mass for a Full Moon in Summer’. Since graduating he has numerous credits in Film, TV and Theatre. He has performed in Iris Theatre shows since 2007; playing God in The Nativity; Heracles in Alcestis; and Capulet & Friar Laurence in Romeo & Juliet; Badger in The Wind in the Willows. And Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

  • David Baynes


    Has performed in four Iris Theatre productions to date. He played Abraham in Romeo & Juliet; Chief Weasel in Wind in the Willows, and in Dido & Aeneas; all in 2010. In 2011 he performed Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 2013 he returned to play Brutus in Julius Caesar and The Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. David Baynes is currently based in New York and has his own theatre company running actor's workshops, The Changelings.

  • Anne-Marie Piazza


    Trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Anne-Marie first joined Iris back in 2008 on "Alcestis" and, most recent work includes "Richard III" and "Alice Through the Looking Glass". On Radio 4's "The Archers" she played series regular Annette Turner and her audio work includes recording for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Her theatre work includes "What Every Woman Knows" for the Finborough, "A Christmas Carol" for the Nuffield, "Oh What A Lovely War" for the Haymarket and the Kneehigh NYT co-production "Hanging Around" for the National. She has also worked as Musical Director for Sixteen Feet Productions and Io Theatre.

  • Nick Howard-Brown


    Nick has appeared in four productions with Iris Theatre, playing Cassius in 'Julius Caesar' and Clarence/Buckingham in 'Richard III', as well as the Mad Hatter in both 'Alice in Wonderland' (including the re-staging at the Cockpit Theatre) and 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'.

    His other theatre work includes Bassanio in 'The Merchant of Venice' at Shakespeare's Globe, Laertes in 'Hamlet' at the Tivoli Theatre, Dublin, Sonny in 'Before the Fire Burns Out' at the Cheltenham Everyman and Perchik in 'Tinderbox', for Tooting Arts Club.

    Nick trained at East 15 Acting School.

  • Vik Sivalingam

    Associate Director

    Vik directed Twelfth Night for Iris Theatre in 2015.

    Vik trained on the Arts Council/ Birkbeck, University of London MFA in Theatre Directing and was Director in Training at the New Wolsey Theatre from September 2005 to July 2006. He has worked in theatres all over the UK including the Almeida, the Old Vic, the Royal Court, Tricycle Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, Sheffield Crucible, the New Wolsey Theatre and Headlong Theatre. From 2008- 2011, Vik was Resident Assistant Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company. He holds a PG Award in Teaching Shakespeare (RSC/ Warwick University).

    He has worked extensively at drama schools including LAMDA, Rose Bruford College, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Birmingham School of Acting, Arts Educational Schools, East 15 Acting School and WacArts.

  • Kevin James

    Stage Manager and Production LX

    Kevin James has worked in various roles on and off the stage and screen. As an actor his theatre credits include: national tours of As You Like It, Tess Of The D’Urbervilles, Charlotte's Web, Henry V, and Charlie And Lola’s Best Bestest Play; the UK premiere of Lilies; The Sting at Wilton's Music Hall; the world premiere of the musical Sunsets And Mornings; and a critically acclaimed London revival of The Laramie Project. He has also appeared in various comic guises in pantomimes across the UK. As a lighting designer his credits include Singin' In The Rain for Cork Opera House, the national tours of I’m A Minger! and Heaven Eyes, and several London productions for British Touring Shakespeare.

    For Iris Theatre he has worked as Stage Manager and/or Production Electrician on Richard III, Alice Through The Looking Glass, Twelfth Night and Pinocchio.

  • Filipe Gomes

    Sound Designer and Composer

    Filipe Gomes is a multidisciplinary artist and designer specialising in the mediums of sound, music and narrative. His work is used extensively on stage, having composed contemporary scores for a vast array of theatre productions, including, our very own award winning ’Treasure Island’, The ‘Jungle Book’ for Metta Theatre, ‘Bridges y Puentes’ for Ragroof Players and ‘The Marked’ for Theatre Temoin to name a few from 2016. Recently Filipe was shortlisted from over a thousand entries as one of the top 5 UK composers and sound designers by the Old Vic London as part of the ‘OV12 Project’.
