I like Pina Coladas and... wrong personal ad. Hi, Composers! I'm a versatile lyricist and I love writing great characters. I prefer to write lyric first and then let you at it. I love to do rewrites because it's when the puzzle really gets solved. I've worked with a lot of wonderful composers and am always thrilled to find another great collaborator. I'm also a bourbon drinker. I feel that's important to share.

A songwriter since childhood, I've done quite a bit of new opera writing and am now diversifying into MT. I'd like to have a bash at writing something pretty commercial for this, with catchy hooks and a sing-a-long chorus, maybe something that might create an earworm. Hopefully with some cleverer lyrics with a twist or a sting in their tail. I love to write strong, fully realised characters, but sometimes need to be encouraged to simplify so it comes across.

I love all kinds of music from classical to jazz, from rock to musical theatre, folk too, any kind of music really as long as its good. I love performing music myself and am the lead singer in a rock band called The Dirty Harry Band. I am also a playwright, and always try to punctuate my plays with music; knowing how emotionally that mixture or words and music can move an audience. I have submitted two very different song ideas to allow a collaborator space to choose a style to work with, and hopefully come up with something unique.

I am an Australian lyricist and prefer to write dry lyrics. 'I cannot say' is from my musical LOVE YOUR POISON that I'm developing with a London based composer. It is based on my orginal stage play and is a Next to Normal type of show. The song is about a dying actress leaving her beloved teenage son. Never Knew is a musical about WW2heroine Nancy Wake and is looking for a UK producer.

I have written lyrics to several musicals - traditional pros arch style shows, big ballads, full multi harmony chorus numbers, adding comedy sometimes, always carrying the story forward and staying true to the characters singing the songs. Commercial rather than avante garde style. Although I have collaborated with composers before, as well as writing my own music, I am looking for a composer who will supply a 2015 angle, allow me to flex my writing muscles to create exciting, contemporary material which will force the audience to its feet.

I am happy to work with any style of music, though the ones posted here are from a comedic musical with a broad pastiche of musical styles from the 50s to present day. I feel I am adaptable and flexible and very happy to try out new styles.

Lyricist seeks friendly and musically ambitious composer with a taste for the sounds of Bernstein, Frankel & Korie, Yeston and Tesori. Interested in pieces that have humour but also experiment with the form, such as in Ahrens and Flaherty's work. Interested in collaborations on full length works, song cycles/revues and individual cabaret songs.

I love all kinds of music: my latest project is set NOW and uses contemporary, pop idiom, focussing on young, affluent, hedonistic professionals, and mixes them with a group of underwork criminals. Elsewhere, I am writing a modernised adaptation of Hamlet, using Shakespeare's works as a jumping off point for the lyrics (to a greater or lesser extent). Another recent project is set in the City, and employs financial jargon alongside showbiz turns of phrase.

Slick chick from the sticks seeks sly urban fox for musical fun and games. I'd love to explore new ideas in creating music theatre. Tell great stories of adventure in a musical world where characters grow and develop in song. Excited by new writing this chick will work hard to be up to scratch. So chuck, chuck, chuck your keys in the bowl and join me!

My musical tastes are eclectic - from music hall to contemporary - but most important for me are strong story-telling, powerful atmosphere, the unexpected, work that isn't too 'neat' and doesn't explain itself. I'm fairly new to song-writing but am a published novelist and have a lot of writing experience in different forms. I'm open to different styles of working as long as it's fun and adventurous!

Experienced, versatile lyricist seeks sparky composer, GSOH, to explore potential creative partnership (songwriting, that is!). Wit and frivolity preferred, always (in Art, as in Life), but gravity and sincerity can be accessed when required. Not a great fan of the torch song or the power ballad, but a pushover for a well-turned phrase or melody. Love writing lyrics, and am always on the lookout for new collaborators.. This sounds like it should be fun, too!
