Festive Folklore

Join Iris Theatre for its annual Christmas celebration and fundraiser, at its beautiful home: St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden.

A band of emerging actor-musicians present a festive evening of folk music, spoken-word and Christmas fables. With stories from writers new and old, come celebrate the joy and unity of the most wonderful time of the year, hosted for one night only at the Actors’ Church.

Featuring new work by Evangeline Dickson, Natasha Cottrial, Katie Elin-Salt, Matthew Greenhough, Luke Jerdy, and Adam Welsh, performed by Kat Best, Molly-Grace Cutler, Conor Glean, Joe Goodhead, AJ Jenks, Ailsa Joy, Jordan Moxon, Tim Mylechreest, Matt Stubbs, and Isabella Wheatland.

Directed by Paul-Ryan Carberry, with music and musical direction by Nick Hart.

Kat Best

Performer

Kat Best, an Actor Musician graduate of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Kat has spent her love for theatre and music combined by not only performing in touring pantomimes and shows, but also teaching these skills to the next generation. When not in rehearsals or teaching, Kat spends her pastimes composing music and writing plays. Her latest work includes an actor musician pantomime for young people entitled ‘Tutti Flutti’.

Molly-Grace Cutler

Performer

Molly-Grace Cutler trained at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Conor Glean

From Manchester, Conor graduated from Mountview in 2018. Credit’s since include: One Night In Miami (Nottingham Playhouse), Mother Courage (Manchester Royal Exchange), Queens Of The Coal Age (Manchester Royal Exchange) Theatre whilst training includes: A Raisin In The Sun (Topher Campbell); To Kill A Mockingbird (Anthony Lau); Gidea Park (Hannah Joss).

Joe Goodhead

Performer

Joe is an Actor-Musician from London who recently graduated from Mountview. He is a multi-instrumentalist with a speciality in electric and acoustic guitar. Joe’s credits whilst training include Lysimachus in Shakespeare’s ‘Pericles’ and Joe in ‘Our House’. During his time at Mountview, Joe has worked with Paul-Ryan Carberry and Nick Hart on Knee High’s ‘Dead Dog in a Suitcase’. He is thrilled to be working with them both again.

AJ Jenks

Performer

AJ Jenks trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts graduating with a BA Honours in Actor Musicianship. Since graduating he has played many different roles in film and on stage. Such as Aladdin at the Richmond theatre and ‘Colin West’ In the Count Arthur Strong film ‘The Curse of the Mummy’. He is Currently playing Buddy Holly in the Buddy Holly Story UK tour.

Ailsa Joy

AJ Jenks trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts graduating with a BA Honours in Actor Musicianship. Since graduating he has played many different roles in film and on stage. Jodan Moxon

Jodan has recently graduated from Mountview on the Actor Musicianship course. Professional Credits include: Yellow in Mark and The Marked (Box Clever Theatre). Drama school credits include: Pericles in Pericles, Dad in Our House The Madness Musical, Eliza Seeps in Dead Dog in A Suitcase, Lysander in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Baloo in Jungle Book.

Tim Mylechreest

Timothy trained at Mountview Academy of theatre arts. Tim is delighted to be performing with Iris theatre company for the 1st time, and hopes to jingle some bells on this christmassy night…DING DONG!! Matt Stubbs

Performer

Matt trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and had his graduation ceremony here at The Actors Church in 2005. Theatre includes: Macbeth & The Three Musketeers (Iris Theatre), A Midsummer Nights Dream (Stafford Castle), Love In The Wood (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Letting in Air (The Young Vic/Box of Tricks), Sun and Heir (Royal Opera House), Ludd and Isis (assistant Director/Royal Opera House). Radio, Television & Film includes: Arnold Bennett (BBC Radio 4), Emmerdale (ITV), The Bill (ITV), David Bennett in The Royal (ITV), Robin (CarBoot Films. Dir. Mark Little), Ways To Live Forever (El Capitan Pictures. Dir. Gustavo Ron), and Life Classes (Boogle Eye Films. Dir. Robin Morgan). Matt is the Artistic Director for The Crystal Maze – LIVE Experience London & Manchester. He has also worked as assistant director and acting coach for Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Benjamin Britten’s Aldeburgh Music Concert Hall and Het Muziektheater, Amsterdam.

Isabella Wheatland

Performer

Isabella grew up in Chester and is a recent graduate from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts from their Actor-Musician course. Her roles during training include Lucy Lockitt in Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs), Thaliart in Pericles, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Winnie in The Matchgirls. Isabella is excited to be a part of the festivities with Iris Theatre.
