Workin Process Blind Date 2015
Thank you for your interest in applying to Iris Theatre’s Musical Theatre Blind Date 2015.
This unique songwriting competition aims to match budding composers and lyricists to collaborate on a new song. After submitting your online application – your anonymous personal advert along with some examples of your music and or lyrics will be posted on Iris Theatre’s website. Then you have the chance to let us know your top three collaborating choices out of all the adverts.
Based on a successful match, Iris will support collaborators during the composition process. The final songs will be judged by an esteemed panel of experts with a special prize for the best song on the night. This special concert will be hosted at St Paul’s Church (Actors Church), Covent Garden at 6.30pm on October 25th 2015.
Previous winners, Mary Evans and Luke Bateman, have continued to collaborate and went on to win the Audience Award at our Christmas songwriting competition, Xmas Factor, for two consecutive years. Following their success, Iris Theatre commissioned them to create a brand new musical, H.R.Haitch, which was presented as a concert performance in May 2015 with the support of the Arts Council England.
“absolutely fabulous, humming tunes all the way home! Loved it! Brilliant!”
– APM Associates at H.R.Haitch, May 2015.
